I'm back at uni. Feels weird being on this new campus, though. I mean, same course, same people ... completely new town.
And Plymouth SMELLS LIKE FISH.
I miss Exeter. I think everyone on the course does. I mean sure, the new building is ... interesting. Kinda angular. The resources are pretty good here - I mean, they're a lot better than the old campus... but ...
Ah, it's just not the same.

That, and my flat would be perfect if BLOODY BRITISH TELECOM HADN'T MANAGED TO BLOW UP THE NETWORK ON MY SIDE OF THE BUILDING.

Seriously, I think it's personal, now. I mean, three months interwebless at the beginning of last year, and then that big long battle to get my MONEY back, after they CHARGED me for my three netless months ... and now this.

I miss WoW, I miss Elka, and I miss Bash.

I'm also very tired of having to be in the library until 3am most mornings. Please, BT, make my things work.

... That at some point, they must eventually not be.

The cat had to be put down today.

Thankfully, my manager gave me two hours off work, so I could be there.

I'm a little upset, I think.

It's gonna DIE.


For some reason, Pan has developed a 'pseudo-desktop', where she attempts to save ALL my files. The problem with this is that if anything gets saved there, the OS can't see it anymore. It's still on my hard-drive, but kinda invisible. It's now become second nature just to click on the icon that leads to my ACTUAL desktop whenever I save stuff.

... which is why I can't quite understand why the image I slaved over all f***ing day has suddenly disappeared from my Illustration folder and reappeared on the pseudo-desktop. Where I can't reach it.


*wails* And that was ALL I had to show to my tutor!

*sigh* I just don't get this. I love that laptop, I treasure that laptop. I don't yell at her (much), I don't throw her at things, I give her regular comforting pats, I monitor her temperature and fan speed, I occasionally dust her...
And this is how she repays me.

I don't think it's quite sunk in yet, actually. Tomorrow's tutorial was going to be bad enough already, without the loss of 99% of my work. I'm going to have to get this file back somehow. I'll take it to Mike the technician tomorrow and see if he has any idea what's going on.

Dammit, I'm just going to have to write Slayers fanfic until I feel better.

Oh, and I have lots of things to update, and lots of images to comment on. If you've submitted something I like and you haven't heard from me, it's probably just because I haven't got round to you yet.
